Precautions for cytology tests
Cytology tests are not necessarily a definitive diagnosis. Please be aware that the test results are based on the specimen you submitted and do not reflect the entire lesion. We recommend comprehensive diagnosis using histological examination. (Screening tests may result in false negative results.)
Primary screening may be outsourced to Tokyo Central Pathology Laboratory (TCPL). In that case, a "T" mark will be displayed after the cytotechnologist's name on the cytology test report.
It is possible to request a human papillomavirus test (V41: ThinPrep container) at the same time, but in that case, the required time for cytology will be delayed by 1 to 2 days.
