    CLEIA (Chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay)
A method in which an antigen is reacted with a solid-phase antibody, an enzyme-labeled antibody is reacted with the antigen in a secondary reaction, a chemiluminescent substrate is added and the luminescence intensity is measured.

Cutoff value less than 13.6 (pg/mL)

COMMENT

13.6 pg/mL is the cutoff value for the predictive diagnosis of the severe disease in SARS-CoV-2 positive patients. Please avoid requests with hemolysis.
Please avoid inactivated (deactivated) specimens as they may affect test results.
●Notes for Interferon-λ3 (IFN-λ3)
1. In SARS-CoV-2 positive patients, a transient increase in IFN-λ3 has been reported prior to the onset of severe disease (moderate disease II or higher with respiratory failure). Therefore, if a blood sample is taken at a time when the measured value drops to the cutoff value or below after a transient rise above the cutoff value, severe disease may not be predicted.
2. In immune reactions, it is generally known that nonspecific reactions may result in a positive or negative determination.
3. IFN-λ3 has been reported to show high levels in the serum of patients with chronic hepatitis C.
4. The diagnosis based on the measurement results should be made comprehensively by taking other relevant tests and clinical symptoms, etc. into consideration.
5. SARS-CoV-2 positive patient specimens will not be returned. If you are considering an additional test, please collect and store a spare specimen.
