POT method
A method of determining the genotype (POT type) of a bacterial strain by selecting ORFs (open reading frames: gene-reading frames) of which retention status varies for each bacterial strain and detecting their retention patterns using multiplex PCR. By comparing POT types, it is possible to identify bacterial strain levels, and isolated strains obtained from mass infections often have the same POT type.
