COMMENT

・This test confirms the retention or loss of mismatch repair proteins MLH1, MSH2, PMS2, and MSH6 by immunohistochemical staining (IHC).
Please request this test using the dedicated request form.
The physician's signature on the dedicated request form confirms that prior explanation of the contents of the test has been given to the examinee.
How to submit MMR protein (IHC) (Lynch syndrome)
1) Since the presence or absence of cancer cells may be unknown, please attach a copy of the pathology report at the time of the test request (however, this is not required if a general pathology test is performed at our company). If for some reason you are unable to attach the pathology report, please provide the name of the pathology diagnosis (histological type, etc.) and as much clinical information as possible in the request form.
2) Materials will be unstained specimen slides (prepared from formalin-fixed paraffin blocks) of colorectal cancer. Please use silane or other coating slides and after thinning, dry the slides overnight at approximately 40°C before submitting them.
3) Thinly slice the tissue to a thickness of 4 μm and attach it to the center of the tissue as much as possible.
4) If you request a paraffin block, please check with our sales staff for a delay in the time required for the preparation of unstained specimen slides.
5) 10% neutral buffered formalin is recommended for tissue fixation.
