After blood collection, please separate the serum immediately. Avoid using plasma, as data may drop. Avoid using blood collection tubes containing thrombin as they may affect the measured values.
The cut-off value for determining the risk of severe disease in SARS-CoV-2 positive patients is 95.0 pg/mL. It has been confirmed that among SARS-CoV-2 positive patients, the TARC concentration of patients who become seriously ill (moderate II or higher with respiratory failure) is below the cut-off value from the early stage of onset.
●Notes on TARC (COVID-19)
1. The purpose is to assist in determining the risk of serious illness in SARS-CoV-2 positive patients, so please avoid requesting it after the disease has become serious.
2. Even in patients who become seriously ill, there are cases in which the TARC concentration, which was below the cut-off value (95.0 pg/mL), rises as the disease progresses. Therefore, to assist in the determination for risk of the becoming severe of SARS-CoV-2 positive patients, please make a comprehensive judgment based on other related tests and clinical symptoms.
3. Please note that it is generally known that abnormally high values may occur due to non-specific reactions in immune reactions.
4. When requesting SARS-CoV-2 positive patient samples, please submit them in category B triple packaging.
5. SARS-CoV-2 positive patient samples will not be returned. If you are considering additional testing, please collect and store a preliminary sample.
