Result interpretation criteria for acid-fast bacteria

Test results for items listed below will be reported in the following manner, according to the following SRL criteria:

Collecting samples for bacteria testing

• Make sure that sample is clearly labeled with the name of testing material or the harvest site.
• If the target bacterium is Neisseria gonorrhoeae or Neisseria meningitidis, store them at room temperature.
• Collect materials for the anaerobic culturing in an anaerobic porter.
• Please note that the number of days required for testing varies depending on the target bacteria, etc.

Handling an anaerobic porter

Handling method of Seed Tube HP

1. 1. Immediately after obtaining “ gastric biopsy tissues,” place it into a collecting container (C20) under the black line.
2. 2. Place the sample in the storage within 30 minutes from sampling, and put in your request on the same day.

Collecting samples for environmental test for wiping

Hospital environmental test (wiping method)

Wipe an area (typically 10 × 10 cm) on the analyte with a cotton swab included in Seed Swab γ-1, which has been damped by placing it in a culture medium. Place it back in the culture medium before submitting for testing.

Hospital environmental test (stamping method)

Remove the cap from the stamp medium (C30), and gently press the surface of the medium onto the surface of the analyte, taking care not to touch the medium surface with a finger, etc. After approximately 5 seconds, replace the cap and send it in for testing.
