FA (Fluorescent antibody method)
Fluorescent antibody method
A method in which an antigen-antibody reaction is performed using an antibody labeled with a fluorescent dye against the antigen of interest, and the fluorescence intensity is measured under a fluorescence microscope.
There are two methods: a direct method in which an antibody labeled with a fluorescent dye reacts directly with an antigen, and an indirect method in which an antibody reacts with an antigen, followed by a secondary reaction with an antibody labeled with a fluorescent dye.
